Blogamania

I just spent an hour looking at blogs and now I feel sheepish.  I could swear my days are spent doing things but it turns out it could be a heck of a lot more.  Where do these women find the time?  Do they sleep?  I like sleep.  I need it.  I am pretty sure I can't give it up.  My kids tried to make me for a few years but that didn't go over very well, just ask my husband.  I think I need to buy a day planner or something.  Sheesh...

Call me humbled...

Stinky stink

The marine layer is sitting thickly in my nasal passages today.  Yuck!  As winter approaches here in Peru, I must remember to stop breathing or do so as little as possible.  The well to do of Lima take off to sunnier, less stinky places for the weekends during the winter, but for us po' folk we are stuck with all the wintery glory of gray skies mixed with garbage.  Okay, this is a bad Peru day I think.  Perhaps I should stop blogging now.  ugh!

The World's Worst Blogger

I am here, repentant of my blogging ways.  I truly assumed that no one tuned in to the life and times of the Arrambide's in Peru.  However, at the request of the three people that actually do check the site, here goes...

All is well in Peru.  We recently moved to an area called La Molina, which as about twenty minutes inland.  I was devastated to leave the ocean behind, but such are the sacrifices we make for our offspring.  We are five minutes from the school now, which makes a lot more sense.

Marc continues to adore Peru (he was almost positive he would hate it) and wants to bring his wife here some day to live.  That's how big a fan he is.  He suggested honeymooning here, and I suggested talking to the future wife about that.  She may have other plans.  Marc continues to be super smart and somehow manages to pull straight A's without studying.  A part of me wants to make him suffer a little by making him study like the rest of us had to, but I can't due to his big brain.  He gets disappointed because I don't act surprised about his successes, although I try my best.  I think he wants my to break out the pom poms.  I would if I ever possessed pom poms.

Alec loves kindergarten and is becoming a great reader.  His favorite books right now are the Berenstain Bears and anything that has to do with the Loch Ness Monster, big foot, yeti's, aliens or any other creature of the night.  I have to check them out (the latter) for him on the sly because his kindergarten teacher isn't a fan.  Shhhhh... don't tell on me for my delinquent parenting ways.  He turned six in January and somehow that qualified him to be able to watch anything and everything scary that meets his fancy.  We are still negotiating.

Dylan just turned three on the 8th of March and continues to be my smiley boy.  He's always smiling and having fun.  He also tries to drive me crazy by rolling in any mud/water filled area he can run to fast enough.  He's talking up a storm and has taken on some of Alec's funny expressions.  Alec is his idol at this point and he immediately loves everything Alec does including previous "weird" subjects mentioned in the Alec paragraph.

As for me I am surviving my new location.  We have a park to the side of our apartment which saves my sanity in the afternoon.  The kids feel free to make themselves filthy and drive the gardeners crazy.  Better than me, I say.

See, I blog!

first day of kindergarten

It was a bittersweet day when I sent my little Alec off to his first day of kindergarten.  He was so cute and nervous and excited.  I have to say the entire first week was really an emotional one for me.  I am not sure that even now I have fully adjusted.
Alec, on the other hand is loving his kindergarten life.  He talks about his new friends all the fun things he is doing at school.  He even has a crush on a cute little strawberry blonde.  The apple doesn't fall far from the tree does it?  What a sweetheart.
